Shutting Down Dash Nigeria
We set out in late 2017 to start adoption activities for Dash in Nigeria powered initially by the DashForce monthly meetups contest. There was no exchange in Nigeria with a Dash-fiat pair, no merchants, no remittances platforms with Dash and the likes. It was starting from scratch for me and my team.
Fast forward to today, we have several Nigerian exchanges, payment gateways, remittance platforms and other businesses supporting Dash. However, it has become apparant for us to shut down the Dash Nigeria organisation at this junction. It is quite a painful one for us but after consultations with our team and some community members, we are convinced it is the best decision.
We will like to thank the Dash MNOs, DCG, DFOs, and entire community for allowing us to promote the adoption and use of Dash in Nigeria.
Though we are shutting down the Dash Nigeria organisation, we will complete all tasks in the pipeline such as media engagements, partners and users support for now and the foreseeable future at no cost to the DAO.
We have just one more final request - we are in deficit and will appreciate to have our proposal pass for just this cycle so we can settle our pending financial obligations. Failure of that will put me in hugh personal debt, which will be a difficult situation for me. Thanks to donations of a little less than 20 Dash received, our current deficit stands at $6,300.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Long live the Dash DAO.
