A night to remember after being dropped off deep in the far reaches of Kamchatka, Russia, while visiting an abandoned volcano research w @travisrice and company. With the highest density of active volcanoes anywhere in the world, Kamchatka nights can put on a real show.

photo by @chamiltonjames / Charlie Hamilton James - two Machiguenga boys (aka Matsiguenka) hang out with their pet spider monkey in the village of Tayakome on the edge of the Manu River in Manu National Park, Peru. Manu, in the Peruvian Amazon, is the most bio-diverse national park on earth. Spider monkeys and other animals are often kept as pets in remote communities like Tayakome. They are often orphans of animals that have been hunted for food but very much become part of the community as they grow up. This image was shot for a story looking at how Manu’s indigenous people exist in a National Park with such extraordinary wildlife.
