Greetings POCO F1 users!
Lately, a lot of users are posting about Android 10 (Q) availability for the POCO/Pocophone F1. These posts are spamming all subforums including device, beta and feedback sections in Mi Community. This thread is to answer some of the queries that users are asking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q : Will POCO F1 receive Android 10?
A : Yes. POCO F1 will receive Android 10 as confirmed by Alvin Tse (Head of Pocophone Global) on Twitter.
Q : When will I get Android 10?
A : There is no ETA at the moment. But considering the developer support that POCO F1 has over other devices, it would be made available later this year (hopefully).
Q : Will there be an Android 10 Beta?
A : No. Beta for MIUI Global is discontinued since July 1, 2019. Users will be receiving stable updates from now on.
Q : Will this be only for India / Will other regions receive it?
A : POCO F1 runs on Global ROM and the update will be made available for everyone.
Q : What about RU ROM?
A : Currently, the RU ROM for POCO F1 runs on v10.0.9.0.OEJRUXM based on Oreo. There is no clarity as to when Android Pie and/or 10 will be available for devices running RU ROM.
Q : Will it be stock Android / AOSP / Android One?
A : Apparently no. POCO F1 runs on MIUI for POCO and it will be continued with Android 10. As for devices running Android One (Xiaomi A series), it will get Android One based updates.
Q : Will POCO F1 receive MIUI 11? If then, when?
A : Yes. But as always, there is no ETA. It comes when it comes. MIUI 11 is supposed to be released in late September, so an update to MIUI 11 will be followed. The devs are currently working on MIUI 11 as Alvin Tse confirms. Read more here : The devs are working on MIUI 11 for POCO!
Q : POCO F1 wasn't listed in the devices receiving MIUI 11 !!
A : The list was released for those running China ROM. Since POCO F1 runs on Global ROM only, this is not relevant to this device. But as said above, POCO F1 will surely get MIUI 11.
Q : Global MIUI 11 will be launched on October 16, 2019. Will we get new update the same day?
A : No. Launch and release are two different things. The launch will only mean that the global version is ready, but the actual release date will vary from device to device and will be on a later date. No ETA as stated above.
