We have recently launched the new Migration Policy from Socket-based licenses to Veeam Universal Licenses (VUL). It is the 3rd policy update already in just one year, as we keep enhancing it based on the feedback from our customers and partners. For this update, the big focus has been on one particular feedback item: a fair recognition of the value of an existing perpetual contract. Our pricing team came up with a pretty elegant solution here, which is to provide existing customers who migrate to VUL with the discount in perpetuity for all VMs covered with the current socket-based license. In other words, you will have this discount for all your future renewals for as long as you remain our customer. So if you were not happy with the previous migration offer, I suggest you contact your Veeam sales rep and ask them for a quote based on the Migration Policy v3. This should allow you to enjoy all the benefits of VUL without breaking the bank by renewal costs increasing significantly as a result of switching to the Subscription.
