Taking 2. first, that's very interesting and yes you could do that. Although I think you could create it in ways where the end user wouldn't have to pay anything to use the application.

1. I don't have a current number of active Gaia hubs, but  I would always love to see more. A Gaia hub is really just an index of where all data is stored. A user can then use the hub to control access to their data.

11) By introducing your new Proof-Of-Trasfer (PoX) consensus algorithm, you declare that with its help the Stacks 2.0 blockchain can take full advantage of Bitcoin's security. Users can store their data wherever they want. Data is encrypted locally, and Gaia really just directs data to where a user has asked to store it. These can be cloud service providers, distributed storage systems like IPFS, or self hosted servers

App Mining is paused right now until at least after the release of Stacks 2.0. All apps will need to upgrade to the new network as well, so not much sense in restarting the program now. We also have a number of challenges to overcome for the next version of App Mining, and I believe the foundation is going to be focused on that as well

All smart contracts and digital assets defined on the Stacks blockchain benefit from the security of Bitcoin. So if you register a domain name through a smart contract it's backed by Bitcoin security which is a very strong form of direct ownership. The smart contract language, Clarity, is predictable meaning you can verify what the contract can and cannot do. It's basically focused a lot more on security and precision than other approaches.

In terms of other approaches like Ethereum, EOS etc., Blockstack is the inverse of a ""World Computer"" -- meaning that in terms of technology Stacks blockchain is exact opposite of blockchains like Ethereum/EOS/Dfinity: light blockchain vs heavy blockchain, scaling by letting users execute programs locally vs working on sharding like on-chain solution, etc. It's a long list of differences.
