Job Summary:The Lead Analyst, BI & Analytics will fill an integral role in fueling June Homes’s growth, delivering accurate data, easily digestible reporting, and actionable insights in a fast-evolving environment. In true start-up fashion, the scope of your work will be broad and varied, touching on every aspect of data delivery from ETL to sales reporting and visualizations to web analytics to master data management to competitive intelligence.
In 2020 we will want you to: revamp our data warehouse, integrating data from additional systems the business has adopted; refine our KPIs and develop automated reporting to measure actual performance to goals; analyze what home characteristics and features have a statistically significant impact on demand and price; continue to adapt the core system to the newest functions in our technology and in our people.
We expect you to be technically adept and work in tight collaboration with IT; however, you will report into the business side of June Homes in New York City (but you can work remotely from anywhere in the world) because an intimate understanding of how our business teams use your insights is imperative.
Core Responsibilities:DataWarehouse
— Own DataWarehouse design and accurate ingestion of data;
— Document data dictionary and ETL, and keep up-to-date to changes in proprietary property management and web platform;
— Integrate additional data sources into main database, including member support app, web traffic monitoring, task management systems, 3rd-party marketplace and social media web platforms.
KPIs
— Standardize and automate delivery of reporting metrics for each team and for regularly scheduled meetings, with insights interpreting the results;
— Identify KPIs for each team, define and calculate each metric consistently across all reports and BI dashboards;
— Support teams in setting quarterly and annual goals for each KPI consistent with historical performance;
— Develop visualizations and reports to drive future business decisions and highlight most actionable areas for growth and improvement.
Ad hoc reporting, such as:
— Forecasting data models to support financial planning and budgeting activities;
— Cost studies to identify trends in inventory spend and operating expenses;
— Content audits to ensure accuracy and consistency of master data across all systems.
Salary range:
— $50K — $60K / yr.
Requirements:— 5–7 years experience developing insights from data, working with Business Intelligence systems and organizing ETL processes; Redash experience is a strong plus;
— PostgreSQL (advanced);
— Git (good);
— Python (good);
— Experience collecting business requirements from internal stakeholders;
— Analytical, solutions-oriented mindset;
— Willingness to work with ambiguity and change;
— English language fluency.
Preferred but not required:
— MongoDB;
— Google Analytics / Yandex Metrika (incl. data import);
— Experience building custom data dashboards (e.g. with Plotly).
