- Passengers with an international onward flight from Frankfurt or Munich: there may be restrictions on the carriage of passengers who are not travelling back to their home country. Information on this can be found on our entry information pages. The obligation of a negative PCR test, which has been carried out no longer than 72 hours before the scheduled arrival time in the transit area in Germany, also applies. In addition, the entry and quarantine regulations of the respective destination country apply
Guests travelling on the Lufthansa flight Cape Town - Munich are requested to note the following additional points:
- All passengers must complete a manual entry card, which is available at the airport in Cape Town prior to departure
- After arrival in Munich, a further free PCR test will be carried out under official supervision. Only connecting travelers with a connecting flight to a Schengen state on the same evening are exempt from this – but only if the negative PCR test result from South Africa was issued within 48 hours prior to arrival. Also exempt are all connecting travelers to a Non-Schengen state (for travelers to a Non-Schengen state, a test result from South Africa within 72 hours prior to arrival is sufficient).
- Passengers with the above-mentioned further necessary PCR test in Munich can only leave the test center at the airport after a negative test result
- Passengers with a connecting flight in Munich who miss this flight due to the above-mentioned test procedure will be rebooked by Lufthansa free of charge on a flight the next day from Munich and will be provided with an overnight stay in a hotel near the airport.
- To book an appointment for a PCR test at the airport in Munich, all affected passengers will receive a voucher and booking information at the airport in Cape Town.
- FFP2 / KN95 masks are compulsory at Munich airport
