Southern Cross through the lens of a cell phone !!! 😃 Hi folks, here is the full story since many people were asking me after my previous few publications. I was recently approached by Xiaomi company and they asked me to test one of their last generation cell phones - Mi Note 10 equipped with 108 Mpix camera. They also claimed that the camera's low light performance is quite remarkable. It sounded like an interesting challenge and I've been testing the phone during past couple of weeks, some of the first images you've already seen. Today I am publishing the first truly "deepsky" image obtained with this phone. I selected the Southern Cross as the main object. The phone was setup in Pro mode, image format: RAW. I also used a StarAdventurer tracker from @skywatcherusa installed on @fotopro.official tripod. The imaging parameters are: ISO3200, f/1.7 (Wide camera), 40 x 32 sec. Then the sequence of obtained images was processed in PixInsight software and the final color correction was done in Adobe Photoshop CC 2020.…
