.A surge of arctic air continues to arrive into Deep South Texas through this evening, dropping temperatures below freezing tonight, with some areas expecting a hard freeze. Temperatures will struggle to reach or warm above freezing on Monday, before a hard freeze is expected Monday night. An upper level disturbance will help increase precipitation into tonight before drying from west to east Monday morning. As temperatures at the surface drop to freezing this evening into tonight, any rainfall will become freezing rain, potentially mixed at times with sleet or ice pellets. A glaze to one tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is likely by Monday morning, causing significant impacts to travel. Snow flurries or light snow may mix in Monday morning across portions of the northern ranchlands before ending from west to east, with little to no snow accumulation expected at this time. The combination of steady northern winds and cold temperatures will produce wind chill values in the 10 to 20 degree range late tonight.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The dangerously cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes to exposed skin.

Recommended actions
A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frost bite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.
