все же класно что не разобрался старшип. Теперь можно будет его нормально препарировать и посмотеть что там случилось после посадки и что отвалилось внутри.
ну при размере Старшипа туда можно залезть вместе с экскаватором и остотреть не разрушая визуальную целостность для памятника. Может заменит уже долго стоящего Стархопера.
Good catch. Also, at T+6:05 (12:36 in that video) it looks like some sort of fabric burning and flapping around next to the engines. Lower right in the skirt view.
mlindner It looks like when it landed the vehicle jumped or slid across the ground. Note the darker spots next to each of the locations the legs are. (Also that was REALLY close to missing the pad.)
Lars-J It looked like the landing was an intentional "reverse powerslide"... i.e. the same as SN5/6 takeoff (goes sideways as it lifts off due to assymetric thrust), but done in reverse.
So SN15 came in with a slight horizontal velocity and tried to cancel out both horizontal and vertical velocity at the same time to land exactly upright. Which it almost did perfectly - as @mlinder pointed out, it did slide slightly on the ground.
