5) As known, trading operations have their own risks and no one can actually achieve 100% efficiency. If "at some point" a significant percentage of capital is lost, will the HARD protocol still guarantee investor returns?

Right now, the answer is yes. HARD tokens are given out in large quantities early in the life the protocol to subsidize suppliers and borrowers for their efforts. This will decrease overtime as the platform grows.  I expect for the next year or two the HARD reward will subsidize borrowers completely but it may change and not be the case.

You can redeem your supplied assets at anytime. No fixed term. That is what makes a money market different than other DeFi services.  Assets flow freely.

However the rewards of HARD do come with a lock-up - you can choose either 1 month or 12 month options

Interest is accrued in the supplied asset - so if usdx, you will earn APY in more USDX.

All assets on HARD are secured decentrally on the blockchain that is fully audited. I doubt this will happen. If it does, Kava Labs, has purchased insurance to cover some amount from CertiK.  Additionally, if collateral ever becomes less than the debt issued, HARD can be auctioned off to cover the difference until balance is retored and all users have the appropriate funds again.
