TRANSLATOR / INTERPRETER▪️Employer:
U.S. Embassy TashkentDuties:- Translates and provides interpretation from the English into Russian and/or Uzbek language and vice versa;
- Requires specialized vocabulary on subjects related to international relations and non-proliferation matters, medical technology, microbiology, and infectious diseases;
- The incumbent will also perform accurate translations of documents such as agreements and various diplomatic correspondences;
- Receives logs, manages, and distributes all official correspondence;
- Performs the responsibilities for office management, including records, supply, and property management;
- Assists a Program Management Assistant with high level event coordination, logistics, and execution in support of the U.S. Mission when required.
Requirements:- At least two (2) years of full-time post-secondary study at college or university is required. Some collegiate study in English, Russian, linguistics, and/or biological sciences is required;
- At least four (4) years of full-time work experience, including at least three (3) years in interpreting and/or translation, and minimum one (1) year of secretarial, clerical or other office management experience are required;
- Level 4 (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English and Russian and Level 3 (good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Uzbek is required. Language proficiency will be tested;
- Must have a basic knowledge of topics from international relations, nonproliferation matters to medical technology, microbiology, and infectious diseases; must have a good understanding of different terminology and their various meanings in the English, Russian, and Uzbek Languages.
