>The format command is internal to the drive's controller, so even when you terminate the sg_format command, it will continue. While that is executing, the drive's firmware will not boot. Without running firmware, nothing can communicate with it. So let it finish doing its job then power cycle the drive to see if you can get it to boot up the firmware.
