Thank you! So I‘m very new to maya and I have to animate an already rigged character: but whenever I set keyframes Maya doesn‘t seem to recognize them, so I change the position but the character don‘t move

you mean that you change the position on 13th frame, than make a keyframe and nothing happens?

try to select all of the controls on the first frame and make a keyframe for all of them
