Shortly:
whether and how it is possible to get traffic count (for Belarus) for scientific purposes anyhow including buying it from Yandex.
More detailed:
I am a part of a research group at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, with the main focuses on traffic related air and noise pollution and its adverse health effects. To evaluate these effects we use Swedish population registries data connected to data about air pollution and noise from road traffic, which is mainly, MODELED from road traffic counts. We have a plan to do something similar in Belarus. The data (traffic counts) is provided by official authorities of Stockholm County, however, as usual, the time lag of data is huge and time resolution is too poor. No good data is available in Minsk so far.
As far as I understand inner mechanics of estimating travel (arrival) time of navigation system especially so advanced as Yandex is to use plenty of data which is not directly traffic counts (I define it as an amount of cars per certain street segment per hour) however which can be surrogated/approximated to it. Such type of data should be available in much finer time and space resolution than we are using right now, once again as I understand the mechanics.
So my question is about whether it is possible to get such kind of data for scientific purposes anyhow including buying it from you? I do not expect that this is your field of expertise, however, hope that in this case, you can refer me to the right person.
