Диалог "At the library" — В библиотеке.

🔸Anna: Hi, Vera. How are you?

🔹Vera: Hi, Anna. I'm fine, thank you. And you?

🔸Anna: I'm also well. Would you like to go to the library with me?

🔹Vera: Yes, with pleasure. Which library do you want to go to?

🔸Anna: It's the large, three-storey library next to the metro. You know, the one where you can find lots of international literature?

🔹Vera: Ah, I see. Are we going to take a bus there or to walk?

🔸Anna: We can walk. The weather is nice today.  .

🔹Vera: Ok. Let's go then.

❗️(At the library)

🔸Anna: So, here we are. I need to find some books on the history of China. I think it's on the second floor.

🔹Vera: Let's check. I also need to find some information for my homework.

🔸Anna: What kind of information?

🔹Vera: About the history of World War II.

🔸Anna: I think you can find that information on the ground floor.

🔴 Librarian: Hello. How can I help you?

🔸Anna: Good afternoon. I would like to get a library card at first.

🔴 Librarian: Do you live in this district?

🔸Anna: Yes, I do. Here is my ID Card. You can see my current address on it.

🔴 Librarian: Thank you. Here is the application form. Please, fill it in and sign your full name at the bottom.

🔸Anna: Here you are. My application is ready. Can I have a library card now?

🔴 Library: Yes, sure. Here it is. What type of literature are you looking for?

🔸Anna: I need some books on the history of China. Can you tell me where to find them?

🔴 Librarian: All the books about China and its history are on the second floor on the most remote shelf. When you go upstairs, you need to walk past the IT-room and then turn left. It's the last shelf on the right.

🔸Anna: I see. Thank you. I'll try to find it. I have one more question. My friend is looking for the literature about the history of World War II. Where can she find it?

🔴 Librarian: She needs to look for it on the ground floor. To be precise all the literature on the World War II is in the second room on the right.

🔸Anna: Ok, I'll tell her about it.

🔴 Librarian: But first, she needs to get a library card. Otherwise, she won't be allowed to borrow the books and to take them home.

🔸Anna: I see. Thank you for the information. I'll tell her to get the library card.

Диалог "О книгах" (About Books).

Mike: Good afternoon, Sofia! Nice to see you again! How are you doing?
Sofia: Hello! I’m fine, thank you. What about you? Have you got any news?
Mike: Everything is good as always. I just finished my work and was going to have lunch. And what are you going to do now?
Sofia: I’m going to the local bookstore. It’s very close to my place. Would you like to go with me? After that we can find cafe or a cheap restaurant.
Mike: Sure, why not. What do you prefer to read?
Sofia: Actually I can’t choose only one genre. I really like reading books. Today for example I can read science fiction and tomorrow I can take an  old dusty French novel from the shelf.
Mike: I see. Well I wonder if you can give me a piece of advice. My girlfriend has a birthday soon. She is a kind and naive person so I want to buy a special book for her. What kind of book can  you recommend?
Sofia: Hmm… Maybe “Jane Eyre”? it’s a novel written by Charlotte Bronte. This story is about a  girl who lived in hard conditions of life. She had loveless and dull childhood and she had to solve many problems in time of her adulthood. But the main character was well-bred and strongly principled. These qualities helped her to make her life happy despite everything.
Mike: Sounds good. I have never read this book but I will find it. I think my darling will be pleased with the  present. Thank you!
Sofia: Not at all. I hope she will like it.
