This edit is made with the sole purpose of raising awareness of the community and the general public about the inconsistencies within the DWG’s decision to mark Crimea as a Russian territory. This decision ignores the wide recognition of Crimea as a Ukrainian territory by numerous governments and international organizations (in particular, UN General Assembly Resolution 68/262). Thus, DWG's resolution undermines the objectivity of the map and limits its usability, both of which are listed among OSMF's core values.
I recognize the complexity of the issue at hand and emphasize the need for special consideration.
I acknowledge that my actions go against OSM’s established code of conduct and am ready to take full responsibility for them, including the possibility of a ban.
Этого недостаточно — им же плевать на международное признание. Нужно добавить что-то вроде “…, contradicts its own policy that includes wide international recognition as a decision criteria, contradicts mapping conventions in other countries (specifically, with Georgia, Moldova, Cyprus, Syria, Iraq boundaries including large areas respective governments don’t de-facto control) while singling out Ukraine, and was made without any input from the community.”
